Crew Positions

The captain is the linchpin of the yacht, holding full command and responsible for every aspect of the vessel's operation. When selecting a captain, look for extensive navigational experience, leadership skills, and the ability to manage both the crew and the yacht's administrative duties. Qualifications should match the yacht's tonnage, with licenses ranging from 200 tons to Master Unlimited.

Serving as the captain's right hand, this role demands a candidate who can assume command in the captain's absence. The Chief Officer oversees the deck crew, navigational planning, and the yacht's safety protocols. Candidates should possess a Chief Mate 3,000GT or an unlimited STCW REG II/2 license for larger vessels.

This vital position focuses on the safety of the yacht and its occupants. Look for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of safety regulations, and the ability to assist the Chief Officer in their duties.

The Chief Engineer ensures the yacht's mechanical systems run smoothly. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in marine engineering, with expertise in mechanics, hydraulics, and IT systems, ensuring the yacht's operations and entertainment systems are always in peak condition.

Acting as the leader of the deckhands, the Bosun should have a solid foundation in deck maintenance and small boat handling and be a point of communication between the deck crew and the officers.

Deckhands are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the yacht's exterior. Candidates should be eager to learn, physically fit, and possess a strong work ethic. 

This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of hospitality and service. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work gracefully under pressure. The Chief Stew leads the interior crew, coordinating service, housekeeping, and laundry.

Culinary excellence is a cornerstone of the yachting experience. We search for chefs with a diverse culinary repertoire, creativity, and the ability to cater to various dietary preferences and restrictions. Experience in managing a galley and sourcing ingredients in different ports is crucial.

On larger yachts, the Purser manages the yacht's administrative tasks, from budgeting to logistics. Candidates should have a strong administrative background, preferably with experience in a steward/ess role, and possess excellent organizational skills.
